College of Podiatric Medicine Leadership Update

After 28 years of dedicated service, Dr. Eric Stamps, DPM 鈥93, Dean of the 海角直播 College of Podiatric Medicine (SMU CPM), has returned to clinical practice. With his transition from SMU, he will pursue his passion for supporting the community through clinical practice, serving patients with the San Francisco Public Health Department. 

 

Dr. Mark Razzante, a 2012 graduate of the California School of Podiatric Medicine and a faculty member since 2015, will serve as Interim Dean of the College of Podiatric Medicine while a national search is conducted to find a permanent replacement.

Our foundation remains strong and enduring, and while leadership may evolve, our commitment to excellence and innovation is unwavering. The College of Podiatric Medicine is here to stay as we transition to a new campus in downtown Oakland, continuing the same dedication to advancing the field and preparing outstanding podiatric residents and doctors,鈥 said President Ching-Hua Wang.

鈥淲e thank Dr. Stamps for his unwavering service, dedication to his students and profession, and his leadership within the SMU community. He will be missed,鈥 said Provost Brian Clocksin.Cherri Choate, DPM 鈥90, SMU CPM Associate Dean for Educational Affairs, added, 鈥淓ric has been a devoted and impactful leader in guiding the College of Podiatric Medicine through successful reaccreditation, hiring and supporting outstanding faculty, and launching a new strategic plan. Over his decades as a faculty member, and more recently as the dean, he always prioritized a student-focused program that provided an excellent educational experience based in a culture of integrity and professionalism.鈥
